Who:

Macquarie University

Where:

Marsden, NSW

What:

This project involved the refurbishment of two floors of an existing building for the Faculty of Human Sciences Student Services Centre. First, a set of offices were demolished and a new space was created to re-house a Psychology Test Library. Then on the third floor, the newly available space was incorporated into an enlarged Student Services area. The brief was to create an entry foyer that is sleek, modern and welcoming. It also needed to be clearly identifiable as an entry to an academic space. Materials, furniture and colours were carefully selected to meet the design brief. A special challenge of this project was to work within the envelope of the existing building, which meant a variety of ceiling heights to accomodate all of the necessary services.
